FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions
FILM TRANSFER
-
Can I combine more than one roll of film on the same DVD?
Up to 1600 feet of film fit on one 2HR DVD. Can I add film later?
Unfortunately, once the order is submitted, no other film can be added to the current transfer.Will/do you edit any content for me?
Yes, we only adjust the LIGHT and DARK contrast levels in the film. We do no editing of content.-
Do I need to supply music to be played in the background?
For film, we use our own Instrumental soundtrack. We do not accept customer supplied music. But what if I don't like Your Music?
Turn down the volume on your television, the music is free and most of my customers over the past 35 years have loved it.
VIDEO TAPE TO DVD
Can I add more than one short video to a DVD?
If your original tape goes to virgin tape (or blue screen), the unit will automatically "Stop/Chapter" and we can add another tape. BUT if it goes to a pre-recorded TV show that you forgot was on there, the unit will continue to record.-
I only want a little section, can't you just stop it when Uncle Louie starts swearing?
Sorry, we don't have time to pull up a chair, make pop corn and watch until Louie loses it. What ever is on your tape goes to disc for 2 Hours. -
Will you combine C-FORMAT TAPES?
Since C-Format is a small tape, we used to put them into an VHS adapter and then into the VCR. Those are 30 minute tapes when RECORDED at SP (standard play). In short, YES. Four C-Format's will fit on 1 DVD. BUT if a button on the your camera was switched to EP (extended play) this slows down the speed and that tape could last 1HR. 30 minutes. So if it's possible we will piggy back tapes for you and the cost is 1 DVD.
AUDIO CASSETTES
-
How much Cassette Audio will fit on one CD?
Audio Cassettes came in 60 and 90 minute tapes. 30 or 45 minutes on each side. A Full CD can hold a maximum of 80 minutes. Therefore, you have a choice of either losing the last 10 minutes or recording one tape side per CD. -
Can you insert tracks on my Audio CD?
Yes, only if your current cassette source has a minimum of a 20db silence pause recorded throughout the tape. A track will automatically be inserted at each 20db pause. The current auto tracking devices listen for a 20db silence and call it a track. If an audio cassette is non-stop music, there is no silence between cuts, therefore your CD will be a total of one track.
